Program Overview
At PULSE (Promoting Unity & Leadership for Social Empowerment), we are committed to leveraging the power of digital media to address critical global issues. Our program, “Climate Clicks,” focuses on the intersection of environmental journalism and digital media, aiming to equip journalists and digital content producers in Pakistan and the US with the strategies needed to effectively report on the climate crisis. This initiative, in collaboration with GNMI Pakistan, brings together experts and journalists to share insights and experiences in creating impactful environmental content.
Purpose
The primary goal of Climate Clicks is to empower Pakistani and US journalists and digital content creators by enhancing their digital media strategies for environmental reporting. By exploring innovative communication techniques, we aim to foster greater public engagement and mobilize action against the global climate crisis. Through this program, PULSE is dedicated to strengthening the capacity of journalists and content producers to deliver compelling and informative stories that drive positive change.

1. Webinar Discussion
Guest Expert: Bernardo H. Motta, an esteemed American environmental journalist, led the discussion with 15 fellows, focusing on the intersection of environmental journalism and digital media. The key areas of discussion included:
Personal Motivations and Rewarding Experiences in Environmental Journalism: Panelists shared their journeys into environmental journalism, highlighting the personal and professional rewards of their work. This provided participants with inspiration and insight into the impactful nature of their profession.
Transformation of Environmental Reporting through Digital Media: The discussion covered how digital media has revolutionized environmental journalism, offering unique opportunities compared to traditional media. This segment explored the advantages of digital platforms in reaching wider audiences and creating more interactive and engaging content.
Effective Strategies and Techniques for Engaging Audiences on Digital Platforms: Panelists shared practical tips and successful methods for capturing and maintaining audience interest in environmental content. This included strategies for using social media, multimedia storytelling, and interactive content to make environmental issues more accessible and engaging.
Case Studies of Impactful Environmental Stories: Real-world examples of successful environmental reporting were presented, including the challenges faced and the strategies used to overcome them. These case studies provided participants with concrete examples of how to tackle obstacles in their own reporting efforts.
